We believe language opens doors.

Kalbek started when our founder moved to Vilnius and could not find a modern, well-designed app for learning Lithuanian. The existing options felt outdated, overly academic, or simply not designed with the learner in mind.

So we built one. As a small team passionate about language and design, we partnered with native speakers and tutors to create something we would actually want to use ourselves. It turned out others felt the same way.

Our mission is to make learning Lithuanian feel accessible, engaging, and genuinely rewarding. We believe language learning should be clear, thoughtfully designed, and grounded in real human expertise. Everything we build is guided by care, simplicity, and respect for the learner.

Those values continue to shape our team today. We stay small and focused by choice, so we can remain close to our users, thoughtful in what we create, and honest about what we build.
